School attendance significantly impacts academic achievement. Please help us by getting your child to school on time every day and by avoiding early outs.

Excessive UNEXCUSED absences and tardies may result in court fines of up to $500 a day.

In addition to compulsory attendance law, Canyon ISD is required to enforce the 90 percent rule, which states that students in grades K-12 must attend class for 90 percent of the time it is offered to receive credit or a final grade.

Your child will lose credit for the year if they are absent 18 days, EXCUSED or unexcused.

An attendance committee will determine whether the child will be retained, promoted, or required to complete additional work or summer school in order to obtain credit.
