CISD registration is a two-step process. 

First, enroll your student in Skyward.

Second, go back in Skyward beginning July 1 and upload your proof of residency.

There will be no in-person registration for the 21/22 school year.  All registration will

take place online.  You will find registration information at www.canyonisd.net

A Proof of Residency is required for each student – each school year.  Upload the proof of residency in Skyward beginning July 1 – the bill must be dated for the month of July 2021.  The service and mailing address must be clearly visible on the uploaded document.  Please check the CISD website for acceptable proof of residency details www.canyonisd.net.

Immunizations

All New, Head Start and Kindergarten Students must have an Immunization Record uploaded in Skyward beginning April 1.  All Immunizations must be up to date before a student can be placed in a classroom.  If you have an Immunization Waiver, the original, unexpired Waiver must be presented to the school nurse for review and approval before a student can be placed in a classroom.  The original must reside in the student’s file.

Please update your student’s Allergy Forms and Health Records in Skyward every year.

All classroom seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Online Enrollment Forms, an acceptable Proof of Residency and all required Student Forms must be uploaded in Skyward before your student enrollment is complete and your student is placed in a class.

Online Transfers Open – Thursday April 1, 2021   

Go to www.canyonisd.net and click on the Student Transfer icon and complete a transfer form for each student you request to transfer.  Please remember – register your student at their home campus first.  If a student’s transfer is approved – notice is given to families a few days before the first day of school – August 2021.

Bus Transportation registration opens April 1st.  Log into your Skyward account and click the 21-22 Bus Rider tile.

2021 – 2022 Pre-Kindergarten registration opened February 8.  Pre-K will be a full day program, students are eligible for transportation services and the Canyon ISD After School Program.  Eligibility criteria can be found at – www.canyonisd.net

Canyon ISD Kids – After School Care – Registration Opens – Thursday April 1, 2021  Canyon Kids will open online enrollment for students beginning Thursday, April 1, 2021.  You will find the program registration in the student’s Skyward forms.  Contact Debbie Collier, Canyon ISD Kids Program Manager, for additional information at debbie.collier@canyonisd.net or 677-2550.

Residency Instructions

The parent or guardian must reside within the Sundown Lane Elementary boundary and provide Proof of Residency.

The mailing address and the service address must match on the bill.

The address must be within the Sundown boundary. 

The name on the bill must be the parent or legal guardian’s name. 

The name on the bill must match the parent or legal guardian’s driver’s license.

The bill must be dated within 30 days of the enrollment date.

Sundown Lane (SDL) – Skyward Registration Tips

Your Skyward user name is your first name.last name

Write down your Skyward password ___________________________________

Make sure you include both Emergency Contacts and Family Information.  When phone numbers, addresses or names change – update the information.  SDL needs accurate information to call parents, guardians and emergency contacts. 

Check the Family Access box under the Guardian Details – this will ensure the guardian has Family Access. 

Include the Guardian’s email address and choose Primary (email type), this is the email that will receive Skyward Family Access Email at registration.

Under Student Family Permissions – Check the Receives Forms box, this will ensure the Guardian receives report cards.

When completing the Online Forms –

Step 5 – Open Release of Student Directory Information –

District – A checked District box means your student’s information will be included in Honor Roll in the newspaper, athletic event programs, class photos, yearbook – elementary and secondary and other publications produced by the school.

Media – A checked Media box will allow your student’s work, photo, videotape or audio tape to be electronically displayed on the CISD website on the internet.

Public – A checked Public box means your student’s information will be released to Commercial establishments (driving schools, clothing suppliers, banks, etc.), nonprofit organizations (youth organizations, churches, private schools, etc.), campus student directory (produced by the PTA), companies that produce high school class rings, graduation announcements, videos, etc.

Step 7 – Student Forms –

Please indicate the language spoken in the student’s home and the student’s language.

Step 8 – Household Information –

if your student is the Subject of a Court or Custody Order, please check the box and bring a copy of the paperwork signed off by the presiding judge to the Sundown Lane Office. 

Go to WWW.canyonisd.net – to begin the student enrollment process.  Click on Enrollment.

Click on New or Returning Student

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the phrase below

If you are enrolling a returning student – this means you have a CanyonISD Skyward Student Enrollment Account – click on returning student – you will enter your user name – “first name.last name” and password and complete the process.  Make sure you complete each field and do not skip any sections.

If you are enrolling a new student – this means you do not have a Canyon ISD Skyward Student Enrollment Account – click on new student enrollment and you will be directed to a student enrollment page. 

After you complete the requested information, you will receive an email asking you to reset your password.  Your user name is your “first name.last name”.   When you reset your password – go back to www.canyonisd.net – click on returning student – you can then enroll your student.   If you are enrolling a returning student and need help resetting your password, call the Sundown Lane Office at 677-2400.
